Annual Board meeting of the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s Clean Drinking Water Program held


LAHORE, Mar 11 (SABAH): The Annual Board meeting of the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s Clean Drinking Water Program was held at the Alkhidmat Complex in Lahore. During the meeting the performance of the previous year and planning of the current year was reviewed.

The meeting was chaired by President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman and was attended by Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas, central and regional office bearers.  

On the occasion Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that under the Alkhidmat Foundation 228 filtration plants, 2,541 wells, 12,074 hand pumps, 1,850 sub mersbal water pumps, 148 gravity flow water schemes and 320 solar sub mersabl water pumps and other projects in whole country.

Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that daily 4,876,650 people are benefiting from the clean drinking water projects installed with the cost of Rs 407 million. 

On the occasion Syed Ihsan Ullah Waqas said that Alkhidmat Foundation is working on different projects to provide clean drinking water to the temporary settled people affected from the floods in whole country. He said that in these areas 35 mobile water filtration plants and 106 water tankers have been arranged. He said that every water filtration plant has the capacity to clean 1,000 liter water per hour. He said that in tent villages and flood affected areas 205 water storage tanks have been placed, adding that 55 thousand gery canes have also been provided to store the water. He said that daily clean drinking water is being provided to 266, 400 people.

Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman expressed satisfaction on the report and said that Alkhidmat Foundation through its Clean Drinking Water Program has become the source of providing ease in the lives of hundreds and thousands of people in whole country. He said that Alkhidamt Foundation resolves to extend its outreach in every nook and corner of the country. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that the work of Alkhidmat Foundation is a blessing for the deserving and needy people and we are also thankful to the philanthropists for this work too.
