Both elections of provincial & national assemblies should be held in one day in the best interest of nation & country: Liaqat Baloch
KARACHI, Feb 17 (SABAH): Central Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Chairman of Election Cell Liaqat Baloch has said that both elections of provincial and national assemblies should be held in one day in the best interest of the nation and country.
Talking on the occasion of his visit to JI Media Cell in Quba Auditorium, Liaqat Baloch said this is why the JI has decided not to take part in by-elections.
He said after the ‘Tsunami’ of PTI, the PDM government has broken all records of inflation and price hike. He said new taxes of Rs170 billion and rise in oil prices have broken the back of the poor masses. He said that on February 27, Jamaat-e-Islami would a conversation in Islamabad of its nominated national and provincial assemblies candidates and launch national wide election campaign.
Liaqat Baloch said the nation has tried and tested all other parties. The JI has an honest and capable leadership and a vision to steer the country clear of all crises.
On the occasion, former MNA and Naib Amir Farid Ahmed Paracha, Sindh Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, deputy general secretary Abdul Hafeez Bijarani, Allama Hizbullah Jakhro and secretary information Mujahid Channa were also present.
Liaqat Baloch said that masses have reposed confidence of JI in local bodies’ elections in Karachi which is revolutionary development. He said in past Mayor Abdul Sattar Afghani and Niamatullah Khan had delivered and now Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman would follow the suit. Liaqat Baloch during his two days visit to Sindh attended different meetings and later left for Lahore.
