Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan begins aid activities in Turkiye, Syria’s quake-hit areas

LAHORE, Feb 07 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has initiated aid activities in Turkiye and Syria’s earthquake affected areas.

Teams of doctors of Alkhidmat and Pakistan Emergency Medicines Association (PEMA) arrived in Turkiye by taking medicines with them. They distributed cooked food, tents, beds and blankets among the earthquake victims whereas further medical teams from Pakistan were also being transported to affected areas.

After the ghastly earthquake hit Turkiye and Syria, an emergency meeting of Alkhidmat Foundation’s Central Board of Management was held wherein the participants expressed their sorrow and grief over the loss of lives and properties. They also developed a strategy for assisting the quake affected people.

President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Turkiye and Syria were their brother Islamic countries and continued Turkiye has always assisted Pakistan in testing times due to which ‘we need to standby them in this testing time.’

He further noted Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan was in contact with Turkiye’s Embassy, welfare organisation TIKA and its Red Crescent and added that Alkhidmat will make every possible effort to continue helping out quake victims as a sign of good gesture.
