If central, provincial govts fail to restore peace; sea of people will thrust into their offices: Sirajul Haq warns

PESHAWAR, Feb 06 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has warned the central and provincial governments if they failed in putting place a plan for restoring peace in the country the sea of people will thrust into their offices whereas Jamaat-e-Islami will standby them.

Sirajul Haq along with central leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami was addressing a press conference after a marathon meeting at Markaz-e-Islami Peshawar on Monday. He said an outrage was visible in the masses of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the Police Lines’ attack which can also spread across the whole country hence central government needs to put forth its line of action on the matter.

He said that governments of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had failed due to which the masses started feeling insecurity. He announced Jamaat-e-Islami was going to hold ‘Aman March’ on March 08 wherein all and sundry would take part and continued Jamaat-e-Islami will present its plan for restoring peace in Pakistan during the ‘March’

He appealed to the government to bring forth its plan for restoring peace in the country before the nation along with taking steps in this regard. He deplored that PM Shehbaz’s visit of Peshawar benefitted nothing to the masses but Jamaat-e-Islami will not leave the nation in the lurch besides it will support all efforts of government in restoring peace in the country.

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch, General Secretary Ameerul Azim, provincial emir Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and other central leaders were present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq further said that situation of employment was worsening in the country and warned conditions put forth by International Monetary Fund (IMF) will further exacerbate it whereas deteriorated law and order situation will further tighten the noose around the people.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami said the former PTI government failed in taking effective measures for restoring peace in its four years period due to which law and order situation deteriorated in the country. People of KPK complained that if such incident would have taken place in Punjab a big package would have been announced but the federal government left them helpless, he added.

He said after the Police Lines attack the patience of masses was running out and the element of anxiety was palpable among them. The tribal men had decided in favour of merger for restoring peace in the areas but there has been increase in chaos, he said and added the institutions and jirgas were not playing their part while issues of masses have increased.

Meanwhile, Sirajul Haq expressed his condolences to Turkiye and Syria after a massive earthquake that killed over 2300 people and caused extensive damage to property. He said, “I express my heartfelt condolences with the people and Republic of Turkiye on the devastating earthquake. Jamaat-e-Islami is ready to extend its humanitarian support to the effected.”
