Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan in the next few weeks: Maryam Nawaz


BAHAWALPUR, Feb 02 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML- N) Senior Vice-President and Chief Organizer of the party Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that the party supremo and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan in the next few weeks.

As per details, the PML-N chief organizer while talking to media persons in Bahawalpur said the party has started the public meetings and Pakistan Muslim League—Nawaz (PML-N) supremo is also preparing for his return to Pakistan. “Nawaz will soon be in the country. However, until his ticket’s been finalised, I cannot give a definitive date,” she said.

She lambasted the former PTI-led KP government and said that the counter-terrorism department of the province is still in a rental building for the last 10 years. They have done nothing for their law and enforcement agencies, the Imran Khan government couldn’t build a forensic lab in KP.

The PML-N senior vice president termed the Peshawar attack a security lapse and criticized the PTI chief Imran Khan for opening doors for the terrorists. She further said that the IMF agreement was done by the previous government. The PDM government cannot give relief to people even if they want to because the IMF demands that if the prices are increased then the installments of the loan will be released.

Maryam Nawaz said that she would meet former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. “Abbasi is our senior. He is my elder brother and a long-standing aide of [PML-N supremo] Nawaz Sharif. I will move forward under the leadership of party seniors,” Maryam Nawaz said.

Maryam said that she would call on Abbasi, and both of them would share their thoughts on the party’s matters.

Taking a jibe at opponents over “being happy”, she said that their happiness would be short-lived as Abbasi is a “loyal and principled man”. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had been with Nawaz Sharif for around 35 years and he would continue to be by his side, she said.

While slamming Imran Khan, the PML-N senior vice president on that the Shehbaz Sharif-led government began after November 28 and not in April.

“We are told that this government [has been in power] for 8 months. However, this government began after November 28. Our government began after November 28 before that ladla’s [blue-eyed boy] handlers were present,” said Maryam Nawaz.

Maryam also dismissed the PTI’s claim that its members were being targeted after senior leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Shandana Gulzar were booked in sedition cases.

“Those who cry about revenge. I want to tell them that no one has lifted a finger on you,” said Maryam Nawaz. She added that the claims of revenge cannot be put forward as no one is doing such a thing.”
