Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani strongly condemns incident of burning of a copy of the Holy Quran during a protest in Sweden


ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (SABAH): Chairman Senate Mir Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has strongly condemned the incident of burning of a copy of the Holy Quran during a protest in Sweden, calling it the worst example of religious intolerance and desecration.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said that the Swedish government should take action against those who are involved in hurting the sentiments of Muslims all over the world under the guise of freedom of expression. He further said that the Holy Quran teaches us to live in peace with the people of all faiths and nationality. The United Nations should formulate a coordinated strategy to prevent such incidents.  Such incidents can only be prevented through inter-faith dialogue.

Meanwhile Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi also strongly condemned the incident and said that Islamophobic trend is growing in the western world and it poses serious threats to religious tolerance and harmony.
