Imran Khan strongly condemns burning of the Holy Quran at a protest in Sweden
ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (SABAH): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned burning of the Holy Quran on Saturday at a protest in Sweden.
In a statement issued on twitter on Sunday, Imran Khan said that last March on our government’s initiative the United Nations General Assembly passed Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) sponsored landmark Resolution on International Day to Combat Islamophobia. “It recognised that Islamophobic acts were not an expression of freedom of speech” Imran Khan said.

Meanwhile PTI senior leader and former speaker national assembly Asad Qaiser has also strongly condemned burning of the Holy Quran on Saturday at a protest in Sweden. In a statement issued on twitter on Sunday, Asad Qaiser said that the West people should learn that this anti Islamic act didn’t fall under expression of freedom of speech. “We demand from Government of Sweden to take stern action against these perpetrators” he said.
