CJ Federal Shartiat Court Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer visits Women Crisis Center Islamabad


ISLAMABAD, Jan 11 (SABAH): Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar organized a visit of Honorable Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer, to the Women Crisis Center, Islamabad. The Chief Justice was received by Chairperson NCSW, Secretary Anwar Baloch and Director General Social Welfare Abdul Sattar and Ms. Saira Furqan Manager Crisis Centre. Ms. Saira Furqan gave a presentation on the functioning /History of Women Crisis Center.

The main objective of the visit was to review the system of support in the crisis centre; to personally listen the grievances of women residents in the center and to arrange any possible remedies accordingly. He also visited the vocational training centre in the crisis centre and the work of residents of the crisis centre was shown to him. During the visit honorable Chief Justice asked about the system of support available for women and he assured that he will do everything in his powers for the welfare of the residents of the women crisis centre. He further expressed his resolve that he will visit all such centres in the country.

The Chief Justice appreciated the efforts of the team of Women Crisis Centre in very limited resources. He further assured that he would try to arrange help in the issues pointed out during his visit. He particularly thanked the chairperson NCSW for arranging his visit and giving him a chance to do anything for the destitute women of the country.

Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar, Chairperson NCSW thanked the honourable Chief Justice for accepting the invitation and visiting the crisis centre. She expressed her commitment that even small steps in the right direction may bring great changes.
