We will abide by the agreement with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan: Bilawal
DADU, Jan 03 (SABAH): Foreign Minister of Pakistan and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Tuesday the flood victims were still suffering, but the government was taking steps to rehabilitate them.
Addressing a press conference in district Dadu, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that one-third of the land in Pakistan was submerged during historic floods last year, and international organisations including the United Nations said that Pakistan was in a crisis due to the catastrophic floods.
The PPP chairman said steps were being taken to rehabilitate the flood victims and make them economically independent. He expressed the desire for a system that would help in dealing with natural calamities in the future.
The foreign minister said the floods badly damaged several sectors, including health and education, as at least 50 percent of educational institutions in Sindh were destroyed. He further announced that the government would provide interest-free loans in addition to financial assistance for flood victims for rehabilitation.
He said that Imran Khan compromised over blood of our martyrs. He said those who referred us as ‘imported government’ have imported terrorism themselves. “After victory in the war against terrorism, they pushed the country to another war,” he said. Bilawal Bhutto said that Taliban in Afghanistan are reality but Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is a fitna. He claimed that representatives of the PTI are paying extortion money to Taliban. “Terrorists will not be pardoned at any cost,” he said. Bilawal Bhutto said that we have decided in the National Security Committee that we did not accept the experiment and appeasement policy of Imran Khan towards terrorists and we will establish the writ of Pakistani constitution in Pakistan and action will be taken against those who are or will commit terrorism in Pakistan. Bilawal Bhutto said that he himself, government and masses of the country are not ready to pardon the terrorists.
He said that there is political instability in the country because Imran Khan supported unconstitutionally and a fascist person was promoted and was artificially imposed on the whole country. He said that Imran Khan should come and sit in the parliament and should become democratic politician and if he is not willing to do this then we have his treatment too which he could tell later on.
Bilawal Bhutto said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his financial team brought out Pakistan from the threat of bankruptcy, adding that it will take some time to clean the mess created by Imran Khan in four years. He said that it was included in the document of the NSC meeting on Monday that we will focus on agriculture sector of the country.
Bilawal Bhutto said that there is economic crisis but there is no threat of default of country.
On a question, Bilawal Bhutto said, “We will abide by the agreement with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). We will strengthen the local government system as much as possible.”
“We don’t care about political loss but much care about governance,” Bilawal said. “Differences remained between the PPP and the MQM and are likely in future”. “We are ready to work with the MQM and other political parties,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto said that Imran Khan broke his own promises which took the country on the brink of the bankruptcy and added the prime minister along with his team saved the country from being bankrupt. Government’s decisions were coming out in the form of inflation in the country due to which the masses were suffering, he added.
Bilawal Bhutto said that the 9th January conference going to be held in Geneva for the rehabilitation of flood affectees of Pakistan under the aegis of United Nations is just a beginning, adding that he will continue visiting different countries and will put this program in front of the foreign governments and their private sector, multilateral organizations and banks will be approached.
Replying a question, Bilawal Bhutto said that Imran Khan has many desires but he failed at every occasion, adding that Imran Khan twice carried out long march and was claiming to force for holding the early elections but he has failed. He said that on the one hand Imran Khan says his party members will resign but when PTI delegation comes to meet speaker national assembly, the PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Parvez Khan Khattak went missing, adding he could give the list of the PTI members who are requesting the speaker NA to not accept their resignations.
Bilawal Bhutto said that Imran Khan will continue doing politics but this politics is harming Imran Khan himself and the country, adding that the politics based on falsehood, hatred, division and unrest harms the nations and countries. Bilawal Bhutto said that the early elections could not be held but it would be his advice to Imran Khan to come and sit in the parliament and should play his due role.
Bilawal Bhutto said that there are tough economic conditions in whole world and even electricity load shedding is being carried out in Germany.
At the end of the press conference, Bilawal Bhutto with a smile refused to answer the question regarding his marriage.
