Four policemen injured in DI Khan militants attack
PESHAWAR, Dec 30 (SABAH): At least four policemen were injured after unidentified militants attacked a police post in Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Friday.
As per media reports the terrorists fired rockets and began heavy firing at the Takwara outpost of Kalachi police station in DI Khan, injuring four officials. However, they were forced to retreat due to the timely response of the police.
The four police officials injured were immediately taken to the hospital.
The police maintained that DPO Muhammad Shoaib Khan along with DSP Sadar Hafiz Adnan and the squad gave a swift response during which a few terrorists were reportedly killed and injured.
According to the law enforcement agencies, this is the biggest terrorist attack on any police post in the history of DI Khan. Around 20 terrorists surrounded the checkpost on three sides and started firing, using modern weapons, including PG-7 rockets and grenades.
During the 2.5-hour operation by the police, some terrorists were killed and others injured but they were taken away by their comrades.
