PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak summoned by party chief for missing meeting with NA speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf on resignation issue
ISLAMABAD, Dec 29 (SABAH): Ex-premier Imran Khan summons Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak for missing meeting with NA speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf on resignation issue
According to media reports, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and senior leader Pervez Khattak have been summoned by party chief Imran Khan over their absence from the delegation that met National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday.
Khattak and Qureshi were part of the delegation sent by PTI to meet the NA speaker but both of them excused themselves from attending the meeting at the last minute.
In their absence, former speaker Asad Qaiser led the delegation in the meeting. Qureshi and Khattak will clear their position on resignations with the PTI chief.
Earlier Thursday, the NA speaker informed the PTI delegation that for verification of the resignation the party’s lawmakers will be called individually.
The delegation met the speaker in his chamber to discuss their resignation verification issue amid talk of the party’s return to the assembly.
The delegation included former speaker Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Amir Dogar, Dr Shabbir Hussain, Ataullah, Fahim Khan and Tahir Iqbal.
