Milli Yakjehti Council’s delegation headed by Liaqat Baloch holds meeting with Iraqi Ambassador to Pakistan Hamed Abbas Laftah


ISLAMABAD, Dec 01 (SABAH): Milli Yakjehti Council’s delegation headed by Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Secretary General MYC Liaqat Baloch held a meeting with Iraqi Ambassador to Pakistan Hamed Abbas Laftah on Thursday.

Central leaders including Arif Hussain Wahidi, Pir Safdar Gillani, Mufti Gulzar Naeemi, Allama Saqib Akbar, Syed Nasir Sherazi, Pir Abdul Shakoor Naqshbani, Mufti Marfat Shah and Shahid Shamci were part of the delegation.

Taking on the occasion, Liaqat Balch said that people of Pakistan were tied with people of brotherly country Iraq in Islamic, historical and cultural bond. He said there were people to people close contacts of the both the countries in the view of perspectives including martyrs of Karbala, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani, Imam Abu Hanifa and a place of educational centers.

He congratulated the people of Iraq for forging a consensus on the formation of the government after a long turmoil and continued that Iraq’s staunch position on the freedom of Palestine as well as against the unjustified State of Israel was welcoming.

He maintained that oppressive powers adopted every course to divide Iraq but the people of Iraq thwarted all such conspiracies by being untied and said that unity of Ummah is the only solution of issues of Kashmir, Palestine, Yemen, Syria and Afghanistan.

Liaqat Baloch further suggested that Iraq needs to play a historical role to create good relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran which will prove very beneficial for the whole Islam. He said both the countries Pakistan and Iraq should enhance their trade volume for cementing the relations.

During the meeting, Iraqi Ambassador to Pakistan Hamed Abbas Laftah said the unity of all religious sects in Pakistan was very welcoming. He said the people of Iraq were still vulnerable in hands of oppressive forces and were struggling for their independence and only the unity of Islamic world can foil such machinations.

He further said the government of Iraq was trying its best to boost trade relations with Pakistan. He said the Islamic world was like a single body where one feels pain of another. Exchange of youth and universities delegations will help improving the mutual relations between the brotherly countries Iraq and Pakistan, he added.
