Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb challenges Imran Khan to move court, give answers to allegations against him

ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb Wednesday challenged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan to move court and give answers to allegations of foreign funding, corruption and money laundering against him.

In a statement, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Imran Khan bought a watch at a rate of twenty million rupees and sold it at a price of 280 million rupees through his handlers. She said that money was laundered to Pakistan but Imran Khan did not declare that amount.

The minister said that Imran Khan will have to produce receipts even if he files a case in Pakistan, Dubai, Mars, Moon or anywhere else. She said in spite of boasting, the question will remain there.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Imran Khan should give the date for moving court instead of making mere announcements in this regard. Besides, he should tweet receipts of selling the watch.

She said it is Imran Khan who bought the watch in 20 million, sold it in 280 million but did not declare the amount and what is the fault of an anchorperson Shahzeb Khanzada, GEO, and Mir Ibrahim in this regard.

The minister questioned Imran Khan as to who and how the sale amount of the watch laundered to Pakistan. She said Imran Khan’s handlers Farah Gogi and Shehzad Akbar have been caught.

She said the PTI chief is habitual in levelling false accusations against others and calls it baseless allegations if he is caught red handed. She said what an irony it is that Imran Khan had kept his political opponents in death cells, but starts rhetoric of baseless allegations if he himself proves guilty.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Imran Khan has neither responded to any notices in the Toshakhana case nor joined any investigation.
