Emir JI Sirajul Haq enquires after the health of Imran Khan at Zaman Park

LAHORE, Nov 09 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq along with a delegation held a meeting with former prime minister and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan at Zaman Park and enquired after his health. Both leaders discussed about the country’s political situation. Sirajul Haq prayed for the speedy recovery of PTI chairman.

While talking to media persons after the meeting, Sirajul Haq said that election reforms were vital for stability of the country as elections become controversial at the very first day. The present elections were held hostage and those with money spend it during the elections, he said. Establishment had pledged to remain impartial, he said, and added if the intuition has announced to remain neutral then “we should frame a mechanism.”

If the Election Commission of Pakistan is weak and everybody influences it then protests will occur, he said, and added without electoral reforms no one would accept the elections. “We are an aggrieved party in this regard. I will talk to all political parties on the matter. All the parties were part of the government which is why the people were suffering from losses,” he added. Sirajul Haq said that there is only and one course which is holding of free, fair and transparent elections. If holding elections was the only way out then why electoral reforms should not be deliberated upon and then the elections were held, he said. Holding elections is the only solution even after the political war, he said, and continued marshal law made the way when the politicians indulged in internal fights.
