Induction on 28,000 vacancies of transgender being made on which basis: Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan
RAWALPINDI, Nov 07 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami’s Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan on Monday asked the government that 28,000 vacancies for transgender community were being filled on which of the basis and where the money which come from the western countries, United States and other international organizations for transgender community, was spent.
A seminar was held here under the auspices of Public Relations Department Women Wing Rawalpindi where women belonging to various schools of thought participated. Director Public Relations former assembly Aisha Syed and Naib Nazma Northern Punjab Rukhsana Gazanfar also addressed on the occasion.
While addressing on the issue of negative effects of Transgender Act, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that details of 28,000 transgender should be collected as on which basis this recruitment is going to be made and further questioned that where the money was spent which come from western countries, United States and other international organisations for transgender community.
In Pakistan, he said, 28,703 people changed their gender and continued that they oppose Transgender Act in the public as well at the floor of Senate. In our literature, he said, there are no meanings of word ‘transgender’ as transgender is no word in the English language but there the actual word is eunuch.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that 2,000 people got their gender changed and registered themselves with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and added how was it possible that someone may be included in the gender while his sex was opposite to it. These are two concepts. Transgender basically are full-fledged males or full-fledged females but they have some mental and physical issue, he added.
Islamabad Police floated an advertisement wherein it was conveyed that 6,000 women applied through FaceBook and Twitter accounts whereas 28,000 transgender applied, he said, and added that Transgender Act was a shameful act as this was attack on marriage contract, institution of marriage, system of Holy Quran, Muslim lady, and on the morals of the society. He said that Islamic Ideological Council (IIC) and religious scholars belonging to all schools of thought termed Transgender Act against Islam so the government needs to stop enforcement on this act forthwith so that the country could be saved from its further social drawbacks.
During the address, Aisha Syed said that women were not provided protection in Pakistan as they were killed and sometimes physically assaulted but they were not given justice and if someone comes forward to speak truth in favour of depressed members of the society he is killed. She said, “We need to fully follow Islamic Shairah of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Islam is perfect code of life. Islam confers rights to all including women, daughters, mothers, wives and sisters. Islam never deprived a woman of her rights.” Lastly, Rukhsana Gazanfar thanked all the participants.
