Prevailing circumstances are decisive moments in country’s history: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, Oct 31 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has said the prevailing circumstances are decisive moments in country’s history, appealing the nation to take a stand against status quo and corrupt system.

Establishment and ruling parties exposed as both sides supported each other to keep intact their grip on power, depriving the masses from basic rights including the right to choose their representatives through free and fair manner, he added while addressing a reception in honor of the administration committees of the Minar-e-Pakistan Youth Leadership Convention at Masoorah on Monday.

The rulers, he said, accumulated wealth and created hurdles in process to strengthen democracy. They never wanted free and transparent election, he added. The people, he said, had to decide now as if they wanted the same system continued or needed a developed and prosperous Pakistan. Sirajul Haq said the nation knew the realities behind the long marches held by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

The ruling parties, he said, had launched every movement to achieve support and backing of the establishment. The service to people, he said, was never their agenda. The PTI and the PDM, he said, had same policies and purposes. They were the facilitators to the imposition of western agenda in the country, he added.

Congratulating the different committees and JI Youth for holding successful convention at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday, he said the time had approached to expedite struggle to bring real change. The youth leadership, he said, should form Khidmat committees at levels of union councils and spread the message of the JI among the people.

The JI objective, Sirajul Haq said, was to build a corruption free Pakistan where everyone irrespective to status or power could be held accountable before the law on committing any wrongdoing. He said the status quo parties could no longer deceive the youth.
