In his latest statement on the social networking website Twitter, the former prime minister Imran Khan said that he was shocked by the brutal murder of Arshad. He paid the ultimate price for speaking the truth.

The chairman PTI said that he had to leave the country and hide abroad. Arshad continued to speak the truth while exposing the powerful on social media. Today the entire nation is mourning his death. Imran Khan said that a proper judicial inquiry should be initiated to examine Arshad Sharif’s statements and evidence from other sources.

He said that cruelty to this level was unimaginable and no society can even think about it. The entire nation was worried over the death of senior journalist Arshad Shrif, he said. The former prime minister expressed his sympathies with the members of family of the diseased.  He said all this is committed against us because “we uncover their misdeeds and criticize which is why the powerful segment of this country has inclined to such cruelties.”

On the other hand, Imran Kan has called an important meeting, where all the senior leadership of the party has been called. In the meeting, there will be a discussion regarding the alleged murder of senior anchorperson and journalist Arshad Sharif. As per details, there will be a discussion on the cases in the Islamabad High Court and the cases made on the senior leadership. Imran Khan will also give the plan for the future.

Imran Khan in a separate statement said that Arshad Sharif’s murder has sent shockwaves across Pakistan. It has highlighted an ongoing targeting of anyone who dares to criticise or question those holding power. When will our senior Judiciary act to ensure our citizens fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution are protected safeguarded against excesses by the State and government. “We have seen citizens, politicians, journalists and human rights defenders intimidated, arrested, charged with terrorism and incitement to mutiny, tortured. We see fake cases, misuse of power by different executive branches expanding” Imran Khan said.

“We saw a foreign abetted regime change conspiracy taking place sending Pakistan into chaos. But senior Judiciary continues to remain aloof. When will the Judiciary move to act against State institutions that are defying all laws and violating the Constitution? It is high time they did” Imran Khan said.
