Escape of PPP, PTI & MQM from Karachi local bodies polls a big tragedy: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Oct 19 (SABAH): While expressing his concerns over the deferment of elections for third time in Karachi, Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and President National Political Affairs Committee Liaqat Baloch has termed joint escape of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) from local bodies polls a big tragedy.
Liaqat Baloch said this while addressing public gatherings and at a dinner hosted by leaders and counselors of Haq Do Tehreek during his three-day visit of Balochistan, Gwadar, Turbat and Karachi. While expressing his concerns over the deferment of elections for third time in Karachi termed it an act of brutality carried out by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the people of the city.
It is popular and stable public opinion that victory of Jamaat-e-Islami is vital for solution of crises and public problems of Karachi which is why three major parties were on the run but one cannot escape one’s destiny, he said, and added Jamaat-e-Islami will keep its struggle continue for achieving civil rights of Karachities thus will win with the support of the masses.
While addressing a reception and dinner hosted by Jamaat-e-Islami leader Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch and senior leader Hussain Wadela at the central office of Haq Do Tehreek (HDT), Liaqat Baloch said that HDT was running an unmatched and unique movement for the safeguard of public rights against the establishment, aggressive behaviours of State’s institutions and selfish political wings of Balochistan. He advised the government of Balochistan to complete phases of local bodies’ polls and hand over civil rights back to the citizens.
While expressing concerns over rising issue of missing persons, he said that it has exacerbated in Balochistan especially Gwadar, Turbat and Panjgur and continued that there is hatred and discontentment against the State. He said that border trade and fishing trawler were proving to be big hurdle in the way of employment of people and stressed upon the government to abide by its agreement made with the Haq Do Tehreek. He said the Jamaat-e-Islami stands by HDT’s second sit-in since October 27.
Liaqat Baloch advised the central and provincial governments, armed forces, State’s civil institutions to remain away from creating hurdles in the way of truths and public trends and sense that being disappointed the masses were ready for taking revolutionary measures. Makran Division being the epicenter of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) necessitates strategy and wisdom [of rulers] while putting aside their rigidity and inferiority complex and sorting out real public issues.
