Easy to talk about revolution but practically implementing it a tough job: President Arif Alvi
ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that it is very easy to deliberate upon the topic of revolution but practically implementing it a tough job.
Dr Arif Alvi said this during his sitting with the social media influencers here on Saturday. He termed the social media a gigantic power and claimed the party which knows how to properly use social media can put the country on the path of progress and development. “Matter of voting rights for the overseas Pakistanis had been on limelight since 2008 and we sorted out this issue. Overseas Pakistanis send back remittances of over Rs 36 billion,” he added.
“Stealing has always been a serious threat but when Rs 36 billion could be electronically transferred then why electronic voting [E-Voting] could not take place,” he questioned.
President said, “In a meeting with former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif back in 2017, he said Senate’s votes are sold out, while we are standing still at the same earlier position.”
“In Sindh, the actual concern is that of power. I have been watching violations of rights of Karachi since my childhood,” he said and added that Imran Khan made his last-ditch efforts to eradicate out corruption from the city that no one else could do this. Imran Khan cannot be held responsible for all deeds committed by his 17.5 millions followers, he further explained.
Dr. Arif Alvi said, “We were thrashed in the suburbs of Bilawal House. We undertook tremendous efforts for sorting out water, electricity and sewerage issues in Karachi.”
