Senior journalist Ayaz Amir’s son Shahnawaz Amir murders his wife Sara Bibi in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (SABAH): Senior journalist and former member national assembly Chaudhry Ayaz Amir’s daughter-in-law, Sara Bibi, was allegedly murdered in Islamabad’s Chak Shehzad suburb, police said on Friday.
The 37-year-old was living at a farmhouse in the area where she was found dead on Friday morning. Reportedly, she was murdered with a dumbbell and her husband, Shahnawaz Amir, is the prime suspect in the case. The incident of murder occurred at Farmhouse #46 at Chak Shahzad.
Police and investigation teams reached the crime scene and the journalist’s son Shahnawaz Amir was arrested after earlier fleeing from the crime scene.
However, the police have said that the FIR will be registered after an investigation has been conducted.
“The incident is being investigated,” a police spokesperson said while reserving further comments. The dead body of Sara Bibi has been shifted at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for postmortem. The police said that the forensic of the crime site has been competed.
Ayaz Amir, talking to the media outside the Shahzad Town Farmhouse, expressed his shock and pain over the news. “I would wish this upon no one,” he said “When I got the news…what can I say?” he added finding himself at a complete loss of words.
“It is something that shakes you to the bones,” he confessed. However, Ayaz Amir declined to reveal further details about the incident, saying they were “legal matters”.
It is worth mentioning here that Shahnawaz Amir was living his mother at the Chak Shahzad Farmhouse. It was third marriage of Shahnawaz Amir with Canadian national Sara Bibi. Sara Bibi was going government job in United Arab Emirates and just arrives in Islamabad on Thursday. She got married with Shahnawaz Amir just three months ago.
