Alkhidmat Foundation’s 30 mobile health units commence delivering services in remote areas of Sindh & Balochistan


SUKKUR, Sep 22 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation has shifted 30 mobile health units in the remote flood-ravaged areas of Sindh and Balochistan where they have started delivering services to the people affected from the catastrophic downpours and disastrous floods.

The ceremony of transporting these health units was held at Sukkur wherein Chairman Alkhidmat Foundation Health Services Prof Dr Hafeez-ur-Rehman, in-charge Alkhidmat Field Hospital Dr Aziz Memon and other central and local leadership participated.

Prof Dr Hafeez-ur-Rehman noted that Alkhidmat Foundation is keeping continue its aid activities for the people affected by the heavy rains and floods. In the affected areas, meals and shelter are being provided and medical campuses are being installed. 

He said that Alkhidmat Foundation’s 30 mobile health units have been inaugurated for providing instant treatment to the victims and with a view of looming threat of multiplying diseases like malaria, skin diseases and others in the areas affected by the heavy rains and floods which will continue working in Sindh’s 10 districts and Balochistan 45 districts.

He went on to say that these units will continue working from morning to evening in the villages and suburbs in the aforementioned districts, adding that there would be one doctor in the van and one dispenser which will provide medicines free of cost after the inspection of the patients on daily basis.

A field hospital was established in Sukkur which will work as a control room, he said, and added that the victims will be given medical treatment at their doorsteps. In case of emergencies, the patients will be shifted to Sukkur through ambulances, he concluded.
