Pakistan has not sunk but was forced to sink by the big industrial countries: Sirajul Haq


ISLAMABAD, Sep 18 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that Pakistan has not sunk but was forced to sink by the big industrial countries. He said that for demanding compensation of the losses, Pakistan should raise this issue at the United Nations Security Council. He said that Pakistan’s payable debt of World Bank, IMF and other financial institutions should be waved off. He said that United Nations Secretary General António Guterres is supporting Pakistan, adding that to avert phenomenon and human tragedy, the health and agriculture emergency should be enforced in the flood affected areas. One politician’s problem is army chief’s appointment and other politician’s problem is NAB cases, adding that our problem is 350 million flood affectees. Sirajul Haq said that we will not sit peacefully till the rehabilitation of the last affected person.

This was stated by Sirajul Haq while addressing the seminar organized by JI Islamabad for devising the national strategy for rehabilitation of flood affectees. The national seminar was also addressed by President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Muhammad Abdul Shakoor, President Islamabad High Court Bar Association Shoaib Shaheen, President Islamabad District Bar Association Hafeezullah, MD PTCL Mazhar Hussain, head of the Razi Hospital Dr. Tahir Farooq, legal expert Aziz Nishtar, Emir JI Islamabad Nasrullah Randhawa, President Alkhidmat Foundation Islamabad Hamid Athar, PTV’s anchorperson Syed Anwarul Hassan, a private TV channel anchorperson Siddique Jan and others and presented their suggestions regarding devising the national strategy. Naib Emir JI Pakistan Mian Muhammad Aslam, Emir JI North Punjab Dr. Tariq Saleem, President Alkhidmat Foundation North Punjab Rizwan Ahmed and president Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Kashif Chaudhry was also present on the occasion. 

Sirajul Haq has said that the people who live for the others are really great. While paying tribute to the philanthropy and sacrifice of the people of Islamabad, he said that the nation is passing through a testing time. He said that Pakistan has not sunk but it was forced to sink. He said that in all four provinces the landlords to save their lands and gardens turned the flow of the water towards the villages of the poor people, adding that the people raised hue and cry but no one heed to their voice. Sirajul Haq said that the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UNO) António Guterres himself confessed that Pakistan was forced to sink. He said that along with the Pakistani landlords as they turned the flow of water towards the villages of the poor people at the same time the industrial countries, which were pointed out by UN secretary general and said that these countries through leaving the carbon dioxide in huge quantity tried to target the natural temperature, adding that we welcome the statement of the United Nations Secretary General. He said that United Nations should demand from these countries to compensate the losses caused in Pakistan in the result of the climate change, occurred due to them. He said that Pakistan while presenting its case in the UN Security Council should present its case with confidence and argument. He said that UN Secretary General has already given statement in favor of Pakistan.   

Sirajul Haq said that United States, china, Russia and Britain have disturbed the natural temperature the most. He said that all the loans of Pakistan should be waved off. He said that taking notice of this crime of these countries is in the interest of the humanity. He said that UN has also issued the initial numbers of the losses of the floods in Pakistan, adding that 3 million agriculture acre land has been inundated in Pakistan and 12,000 kilometer roads have been damaged in the country, adding that Pakistan has faced $10 billion loss directly and $27 billion loss indirectly. Sirajul Haq said that he has seen the tsunami with his own eyes, school children were martyred, adding that Pakistan has faced flood 23rd time but not one permanently resolved this issue.

 

Sirajul Haq said that one tsunami came in result of the climate change but the most destructive and damaging tsunami is failure of the system and government, due to which human tragedy occurs. He said that millions of rupees were spent on the preparation of the flood commission report after the 2010 flood but not a single recommendation was implemented. He said that there are 5,000 water reservoirs in India, adding that instead of heavy rainfall in Rajasthan, the chief minister of Rajasthan said that every single drop of the rain has been saved, adding that Cholistan is also present in Pakistan but why we could not save water in Pakistan.

 

He said that 1460 health centers and hospitals have been destroyed in the flood affected areas. Sirajul Haq said that if he and prime minister both have to seek donation for the flood affectees then what is difference between me and prime minister of an atomic country. He said that Shehbaz Sharif should spend Rs 10 billion from his own pocket for the flood affectees. He said that I made same demand from Mansha Group, Malik Riaz, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Imran Khan, Aleem Khan, Shaukat Tareen and Jehangir Khan Tareen. He said that why Shaukat Tareen’s plane was not used for the flood affectees.

 

He said that the government has no data of the flood affectees, adding that now Alkhimdat Foundation Pakistan is being asked to provide data. He said that volunteer for consisting of 50,000 youth should be formed for the rehabilitation of the flood affectees.
