Previous govt while freezing CPEC project committed slavery of the United States: Maulana Fazl

KARACHI, Sep 18 (SABAH): Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President and Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the biggest alliance of the history of Pakistan is ruling the country today, adding that the economic experts should have to sit and deeply think and should have to satisfy every segment of society. Maulana Fazlul Rehman said that we have freezed China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project during the last three and half years. He said that CPEC became the center of the foreign policy of United States in this region and this area that if anyone is supporter of CPEC then it is opponent of US and if someone is opponent of CPEC then it is friend of US. He said that the previous government while freezing the CPEC project committed slavery of the United States. He said that the foreign policy always run around the interests of country. He said that the joint partnership and mutual trust between Pakistan and Afghanistan could become source of peace and stability in the whole region. He said that in one sense there government exists in Afghanistan and in other sense there is no government in Afghanistan. 

This was stated by Maulan Fazlur Rehman while addressing a ceremony organized by Balochistan National Party-Mengal Chief Sardar Muhammad Akhtar Jan Mengal in memory of his late father Sardar Attaullah Khan Mengal in Karachi on Sunday. Maulana Fazlul Rehman said that no unanimous definition of democracy persists in the world. He said that whether the change is made in constitution or in the law, this is the only right of the parliament.

Maulana Fazlul Rehman said that he is fighting the war for the democracy from the era of General Ziaul Haq. He said that from the era of martial law of General Ziaul Haq till today we have fought war of democracy against the dictatorship. He said that it should be informed that whether democracy has been strengthened or has become weakened. He said that the democracy has continuously become weakened, adding that the reason behind this is that we politicians become the opportunist and selfish and consider the timely needs so important that we sacrifice constitution of the country and democracy, adding that we should have to look into our own mistakes. 

Maulana Fazlul Rehman said that the state needs two things one peace and second prosperous economy. He said that the laws are made to ensure right of the deserved person and if injustice is done with him then compensate him. He said that in any country the economic and human rights of every person belonging to any religion or school of thought are equal.
