Arrest of Ulema belonging to different schools of thought in IIOJK under ‘Public Safety Act’ highly condemnable: Syed Salahuddin


MUZAFFARABAD, Sep 18 (SABAH): Hizbul Mujahideen Chief and United Jihad Council Chairman Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that the arrest of the Ulema belonging to different schools of thought in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) under draconian law “Public Safety Act” is highly condemnable. Syed Salahuddin Ahmed said that while arresting Ulema preaching Islam in Kashmir, including Maulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, Abdul Majeed Dar Almadani, Maulana Moinul Islam Nadavi, Maulana Fahim and Maulana Ramazan, has been given clear message to the world that based on the principles of Hindutva ideology, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) considers all the religions generally and Muslims especially its enemy.

This was stated by Syed Salahuddin Ahmed while addressing the special meeting of the United Jehad Council held on Sunday. Syed Salahuddin said that current Indian leadership wanted to snatch the religious identity from the Kashmiri masses and arrest of the Ulema belonging to different schools of thought is part of the same plan. He said that Kashmiri masses continued to foiling the Indian heinous designs and will continue doing so in future also, adding that regrettably why international community and international human rights organizations are silent on this situation. He said that Pakistan being an important party in the Kashmir dispute is not playing the role, which it should have to play.

Syed Salahuddin Ahmed asked the Pakistani government to inform the international community about the heinous designs of the Indian Hindutva leadership and results of these heinous designs.

The meeting also expressed grief and sorrow on the death of Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir leader from Hangah Hindwara, Ghulam Rasool Butt. The meeting also paid rich tribute the services of the deceased. Ghulam Rasool Butt passed away on 17th September 2022. The deceased along with being an important leader of the JI, also remained the personal secretary to the first Emir JI Jammu and Kashmir Maulana Saaduddin. The deceased passed whole life while struggling for the supremacy of Islam and freedom struggle of Kashmir. The meeting also prayed higher status in heaven for the deceased and courage for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The meeting also reiterated the resolve that with the blessings of Almighty Allah and while following the path of elders the struggle for the supremacy of Islam and for the achievement of the destination of freedom of Kashmir will remain continue.
