President Alvi visits British HC to offer his condolences on the sad demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
ISLAMABAD, Sep 09 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi visited the British High Commission to offer his condolences on the sad demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Friday. He was received by the British High Commissioner, Christian Turner, on his arrival at the High Commission.
“Her unwavering commitment to duty, her patronage to charities to uplift less privileged people, and her continued efforts to promote peace around the world were exceptional”, President Dr. Arif Alvi added.
The British High Commissioner said that the late Queen had a special place for Pakistan and in one of her last messages, she expressed her solidarity with the flood victims of Pakistan.
Meanwhile President Dr. Arif Alvi has said the torrential rains and floods have affected millions of people across country. He was talking to a delegation of Private Mobile Company in Islamabad on Friday.
The President said that business community and well off people should come forward and help their affected brethren in this difficult time.
On the occasion, the delegation led by Vice President of the company presented a cheque of Rs 10 million to President Dr. Arif Alvi for the rehabilitation of flood-affected people.
