Maryam Nawaz again submits application in LHC for return of her passport

LAHORE, Sep 07 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has again submitted an application in Lahore High Court (LHC) for return of her passport on Wednesday.

Maryam Nawaz has submitted application in the LHC through her counsel Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz Advocate. It has been argued in the application that from last four years the passport of the applicat is present with LHC, adding that so far National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has not succeeded in submitting the challan of the Chaudhry Sugar Mills reference. Maryam Nawaz has argued that she was granted bail on merit in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

It has been argued that no person could be deprived of his or her basic constitutional rights for a long time. It has been requested in the application that the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) of LHC may kindly be directed to return the passport(s) of the petitioner of the justice. Any other relief deemed appropriate in the peculiar circumstances of the case may kindly be granted to the petitioner. Maryam Nawaz has cited former president general (retd) Parvez Musharraf and Ayyan Ali cases in her petition that their passports had been returned back so her passport should also be returned so that she could go anywhere like a free citizen.

It is worth mentioning here that in past also Maryam Nawaz Sharif had approached the Lahore High Court for return of her passport but the two separate benches of the LHC had recused themselves from hearing the petition of Maryram Nawaz due to personal reasons after which Maryam Nawaz had withdrawn her application.
