Two more humanitarian assistance flights from Turkmenistan & UAE arrive in Pakistan


KARACHI/RAWALPINDI, Sep 05 (SABAH): First humanitarian assistance flight from Turkmenistan landed on Monday at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi carrying much needed relief assistance including medicine and medical equipment.

According to a statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the flight was received by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan , Advisor to CM Sindh on Relief and Rehabilitation Rasool Bux Chandio, representatives of MoFA, NDMA and PDMA. The relief assistance from Turkmenistan is welcomed with warmth and gratitude.

Meanwhile in continuation of humanitarian air bridge established between Pakistan and UAE, relief flight of UAE scheduled for Monday was received at Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi.

The flight was received by Hamad Bakheet Ateeq, Head of UAE Red Cresent for Pakistan, along with representatives from NDMA and Foreign Office. In total 16 flights from UAE have landed in Pakistan carrying food, medical supplies and tents etc.

FO spokesperson said that Pakistan is thankful to the Government and people of UAE for their continuous support for the people of Pakistan in these times of grave crisis.
