Imran Khan & PTI increased Pakistan’s public debt plus liabilities by Rs 20,605 in only 39 months: Miftah Ismail
KARACHI, Nov 25 (SABAH): Former finance minister and Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh Dr. Miftah Ismail Ahmed has said that Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have increased Pakistan’s public debt plus liabilities by Rs 20,605 in only 39 months. He said that Imran Khan has taken 69% of all loans taken by all the governments combined in 71 prior years. How much is Rs 20,605 billion? Let’s see.
In a statement issued on Thursday on social media, Miftah Ismail said that if PTI’s federal and all provincial and local governments had not taken a single rupee in taxes these last 39 months, even then it wouldn’t add up to Rs 20,605. So we could’ve had a tax-free Pakistan with this debt.
Miftah Ismail said that for Rs 20,605 billion we could’ve given every Pakistani free atta, sugar, gas and electricity for 39 months. Including every factory, home, hospital, school, etc. And we would still have money left over. This just shows you the cost of incompetence.
