Flood affectees will not be left alone in this testing time: Maryam Nawaz


RAJANPUR, August 31 (SABAH): Vice-President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has vowed that PML-N will not leave the flood affectees alone in the testing time, terming it party’s top most priority.

Maryam Nawaz expressed these views while addressing the flood affectees on Wednesday on the occasion of her visit of calamity-hit Fazalpur area of Punjab’s Ranjanpur District. Maryam Nawaz said, “I had come here to share woes and worries with my mothers, sisters and daughters; however, I’m very thankful to them the way they treated me with love and care.”

She went on to say, “I visited streets and neighborhoods of the area on my own and saw losses caused due to floods, wherein homes were washed away; cattle got killed and crops destroyed.”

Maryam Nawaz said she vows to people from Rajanpur that on the directions of PML-N supreme leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and according to the promise of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the PML-N government will leave no stone unturned in getting rid of hardships of flood victims.

Moreover, she said that relief goods are much in need at the moment as people are compelled to stay at tents, and added only these calamity-hit people can feel its woes and worries. She promised to go to any length to stand by them.

Maryam Nawaz promised to provide flood victims with built houses and said the government will try to compensate for their losses of livestock and crops. She said that it is top priority of PML-N to not leave the victims in the lurch, adding Mian Nawaz Sharif asked them to visit each and every place affected by the heavy rains and floods which is why she is paying visit the area. “I will remember the love and care meted out to me by the residents of Rajanpur. I will revisit Rajanpur,” she wished. 

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz sympathized with flood victims and distributed ration among them. She also gave away gifts to the children. Other leaders of PML-N were also present on the occasion.
