India failed to behaving as a responsible UN member: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

ISLAMABAD, August 27 (SABAH): By claiming to represent in the UN as the largest state of over 1.15 billion multicultural, multilingual, and multiethnic inhabitants and yet denying natural and constitutional rights to its non-Hindu ethnic segments, especially over 300 million Muslim inhabitants and playing flashy gimmicky with the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the last 75 years on the question of granting them the right to self-determination, India has proved to be the most irresponsible member of the United Nations Organisation.

This was said by Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement here on Sunday. He was challenging the Modi racist government on telling lies and maltreatment of the Kashmiri leaders in or outside of prisons.

Referring to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s case under house detention since August 2019, Delhi establishment and UT LG of Jammu and Kashmir, had during the last 3 years either concealed truth or suppressed the truth or depended on blatant lies, and when Mirwaiz himself on the statement of the LG, came out of his house to just proceed to the Jamia Mosque to offer the Friday prayers, he was brazenly stopped by security officers, despite a latest statement by the Governor that he was free to go anywhere and claimed that he was never under house detention.

Muhammad Farooq  Rehmani said that by acting in a manner detrimental to universal truth and frequently in respect of Kashmir, Indian rulers and the Jammu and Kashmir LG had been hoodwinking both the Kashmiris and the world at large. Indian rulers have been behaving as white liars and no Kashmiri not even their own supporters are ready to trust them.

After an episode a few days ago faced by Mirwaiz, a bundle of lies of the Indian establishment have fallen on ground and broken like a house of  cards. He asked the UN authorities to focus on the prevailing Kashmir tragedy and depute its representatives to assess the situation and meet the leaders in different jails. He said that Mirwaiz detention was a test case and Indian lies must not be taken easily.
