Muslim world should recognize Taliban govt in Afghanistan: Sirajul Haq
DOHA, Nov 24 (SABAH): Muslim world should recognize Taliban government in Afghanistan and extend humanitarian support to the war-torn country, appealed Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq during his visit to the head office of International Union of Muslim Scholars in Doha (Qatar) on Wednesday.
Sirajul Haq is on five-day tour of the gulf country and he visited the Union which represents known scholars of 44 Islamic countries along with the JI foreign affairs director Asif Luqman Qazi.
“Over 20 million people are living in worst condition in Afghanistan due to hunger and poverty. Muslim charities must support them,” he said during his meeting with the top scholars from different regions. He appreciated the role of the Union in highlighting Palestine and Kashmir issues all over the world. He called for the unity of Ummah to face the different challenges posed to the Islamic world.
Sirajul Haq said India crossed all limits of cruelty in its occupied territory of Kashmir and turning the Muslim majority into minority by allowing settlement of Hindu population in the held area. He said international community must break its silence on human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
