Imran Khan was blue-eyed during his govt’s stint & is still the same in eyes of the institutions: Tallal Chaudhry
ISLAMABAD, August 17 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former minister of state for interior Muhammad Tallal Chaudhry has said that former premier Imran Khan was blue-eyed during his government’s stint and is still the same in the eyes of the institutions.
He said this while addressing a press conference here at the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad on Wednesday. “Now that his robbery has been caught in the Toshakhana and foreign funding cases so he is no more a ‘truthful’ and ‘honest’ which is why he cannot contest elections,” he added. Tallal Chaudhry said that Imran Khan washed away all the belongings of Toshakhana but no one is ready to investigate him on the matter because at a time two standards of justice prevails in the Pakistani society. He kept on taking foreign funding while the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) didn’t bother to take notice of the matter by putting deaf ears to his misdeeds. The nation should be well cognizant of the fact there are separate laws for the poor people and the privileged class of the country, he added.
Muhammad Tallal Chaudhry said that he is going to make public all the documents of Toshakhana so that people may recognize true face of Imran Khan and continued those who had to sacrifice their lives by lying in front of tanks they fled away from the country.
He said they have challenged nomination papers of Imran Khan, adding if again decision comes in his favour, it will portray dual standards of justice in Pakistan because on the other hand former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was disqualified in the absence of any solid ground. He said that the chairman PTI doesn’t fulfill the conditions for contesting elections in the light of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
He said that the ECP should fulfill its duties while remaining impartial though the chief election commissioner was himself appointed by Imran Khan. If in fact the former prime minister is ‘truthful’ and ‘honest’ then he should not run after the court’s stay order, he said.
He said that Shahbaz Gill is all okay and was not tortured at any cost, adding if he was tortured then all its responsibility lies upon the government of Punjab as Adiyala Jail comes under its jurisdiction.
He said that the former prime minister has initiated to forge a baseless narrative regarding torture on Shahbaz Gill as if he starts to speak about all the matters he is being investigated, he (Imran Khan) will be able to say that he has been tortured so why he is giving such statements.
