Imran Khan ran smear campaign against Pakistan Army through trolls: Marriyum Aurangzeb
ISLAMABAD, August 11 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister Imran Khan ran smear campaign against Pakistan Army through trolls as he is foreign agent and violator of Constitution.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said this while addressing a press conference here on Thursday. Pakistani youth should be well cognizant of the fact that when foreign funding on the name of a political party is received; it is used for some particular plan. She said that when Imran Khan’s theft and dacoity were caught; he began hurling accusations against others.
The minister said that Imran Khan in connivance with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) got registered fake cases against Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, their daughters, PML-N leadership, Asif Ali Zardari’s sister and the then other opposition leaders. She said that Tayyaba Gull was detained for 22 days at the Prime Minister House to take proofs from her against the NAB chairman who (Tayyaba) had knocked his doors for being harassed by the chairman of Bureau. If Nawaz Sharif committed theft, Imran Khan should have proved it during his four years stint, she added.
She said the promises made with the public in the budget regarding relief, reducing inflation and bolstering exports by strengthening the agriculture, industrial and IT sectors will be fulfilled, adding that the government economic policies are heading in the right direction.
She pointed out that the rupee has started appreciating against dollar as a result of the government policies. She said the Prime Minister is tirelessly working to reduce the difficulties faced by the masses.
The information minister regretted that Imran Khan has resorted to shameful tactics including social medial campaign against martyrs of Lasbela incident to divert attention from the foreign funding received by the party from three hundred and fifty one companies and thirty four foreign nationals.
She said the acts of Imran Khan have not only dented the image of the PTI but also the country. She said that a PTI leader crossed the Constitutional red lines when through a statement on a private channel, he tried to incite mutiny in the ranks of the military.
Counting the development projects executed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the era of former premier Nawaz Sharif, she said that Khan on the other hand has only tried to stoke chaos and anarchy in the country. She said that Imran Khan stands exposed and that he can no longer hoodwink the youth.
