Coalition govt disappoints masse only in three months: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, July 28 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that coalition government of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has disappointed the masses only in three months since coming into power.

He said this while addressing gathering of Jamiat Ittehad Ulema on Thursday.

He deplored that the incumbent government increased Rs 90 per litre in its 90 days while there is two time increase in prices of electricity, gas, and edibles.

All and sundry is suffering in wake of inflation, Sirajul Haq said, while lamenting the ruling class has rendered the masses helpless. Instead of improving economy, the government is depending on loans by handing over the country to the International Monetary Fund, he added.

Laws are in the making for selling out national institutions, he said, adding neither the sellers nor the buyers of these institutions could be held responsible. There is no such thing available in the country with the name of accountability, he deplored.

A particular lobby first works to fail institutions and afterwards propaganda is initiated to sell them out, he said, adding if governance is improved then there will be no reason left that institutions cannot be stable and improve.

Corruption and mismanagement played havoc with the country, he said. The ruling class is not ready to cut their perks and privileges, he said, and added if there is economic depression in the country, their perks and privileges should come to end.
