Existence of an independent judiciary can never be recognized by holding conferences: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Nov 22 (SABAH): Liaqat Baloch, Deputy Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, President of the Standing Committee on Political, Electoral, National Affairs, while addressing district leaders, national and provincial candidates at divisional conferences in Bahawalpur, Sahiwal and Lahore, said that sustainable democracy, transparent, impartial elections and the complete implementation in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan in its spirits is the only way out to save the country from crisis. Existence of an independent judiciary can never be recognized by holding conferences but by independent decisions of the judiciary. Judges’ participation in bar and lawyers’ programs is a judicial tradition.
Liaqat Baloch said that the country is in the throes of a crisis, the national leadership and all stakeholders must come on the same page on national priorities. The incompetent government, the lifeless parliament, the political conflict and the conspiracies of the ruling classes against the state and state institutions are extremely dangerous for national security. Political, national, democratic leadership should come to its senses and play a dignified national role.
Addressing the local body, national and provincial candidates, Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami would participate in the local body and general elections on its electoral symbol ‘scales’. Workers will campaign nationwide in local and general elections. Going door-to-door, voters will be persuaded to support Jamaat-e-Islami. After military dictatorships and the PPP, the Muslim League, the incompetence and failure of the Imran Khan government has become a national disease. Idols of personalities, glamour and crutches projected formulas failed, the country needs a team of reliable, competent and good governance to get out of the crisis.
Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami has produced trustworthy, competent people. Only Jamaat-e-Islami can bring together people from all over the country without any discrimination, patriots and those who have a passion for the country and the nation.
Liaqat Baloch said that Imran Khan’s government was responsible for inflicting unbearable economic burden on the people by inflation, unemployment, price hike, skyrocketing production cost in implementation of the IMF orders. The government has neither the vision nor the intention to make Pakistan an Islamic, prosperous, welfare and a state where rule of law exists. Now, the people want action from the government, not hollow claims, announcements, excessive use of media.
He said that on November 28, youth across the country will hold a historic demonstration in Islamabad against unemployment, joblessness and the right to a dignified life. After the students’ protest, the youth’s protest will also be peaceful and unprecedented. If the government remains heedless to the public issues, then people from all over the country will march towards Islamabad.
