Sirajul Haq expresses condolences over Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s mother Ismat Siddiqui’s death


KARACHI, July 17 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq on Sunday expressed condolences over the sad death of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s mother Ismat Siddiqui.

Sirajul Haq held a meeting with Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui and Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s son Ahmed and expressed his condolences with them on Ismat Siddiqui’s death.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Naib Emir Dr. Osama and Muslim Pervez, Deputy Secretary Younas Barai, Secretary Information Zahid Askari and several other leaders were present on this occasion.

Sirajul Haq prayed for higher status in the heaven for the departed soul on the occasion and expressed his condolences with the members of the bereaved family, adding she was a courageous lady.

Late Ismat Siddiqui waited till her last breadth for her daughter Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, Sirajul Haq said, adding she was badly tortured. He said that she has not been in contact with the members of her family, adding despite the government didn’t facilitate a meeting between her and her family despite the court orders on this matter.

Nation’s daughter was handed over to America in past ruler Parvez Musharraf’s era, he said, several other government came into power and vowed to bring Dr. Aafia back but practically nothing could be done.

Sirajul Haq appealed to the current helm of affairs to do a serious effort to bring her back to Pakistan, adding Jamaat-e-Islami has been putting its endeavours in this regard.
