People have fallen short of patience due to inflation: Sirajul Haq


LAHORE, July 04 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that people have fallen short of patience due to inflation.

Sirajul Haq said this during his meeting with a public delegation at Mansoorah on Monday. He lamented protracted hours of load-shedding spanning over 18 hours a day, saying the nation is paying for the incapability of the current government.

The premier gave three dates for overcoming loadshedding; however, he gave another new date as the previous period ended, he recalled, adding that the rulers’ horses are found to be under air-conditions while on the other side the offspring of the unprivileged segment of the society are crying in the sweltering heat.

He said such mockery and cruelty with the nation should be ended, adding on one side all the system is running on the ad-hocism while on the other side just tall claims are made. Current as well as former rulers have been found not to be accustomed of seeing beyond their person interests, he said. There is no current in electricity wires, no water in canals and no medicine in hospitals, he deplored.

Cruel aristocratic people should seek forgiveness for their sins before Almighty Allah, Sirajul Haq said, in case the cruelties remain the same in the society; they will to face the music for their actions. The solution of the issues lies with the Islamic System, he said, adding people should support Jamaat-e-Islami while rejecting feudal lords and corrupt investors.

The Emir Jamaat-e-Islami expressed his grief over the loss of animal lives in wake of lumpy skin disease in Punjab followed by Sindh and added thousands of animals have died due to negligence of the authorities concerned. Those people who are found to be dependent on mere few animals are passing through hard days due to the said disease, he said.

Sirajul Haq demanded that the government should announce emergency for the animals and should pay compensation to the farmers whose animals have died. He said that vaccination of the animals should be carried out on emergency basis. He said that the presence of livestock department officials should be ensured in the villages and likewise the presence of the government officials for stopping arrival of ill animals in the cattle markets and their treatment and guidelines for the buyers should be issued.

Replying a question, Sirajul Haq said that the economy has been destroyed due to the interest based system, adding that loans on loans are being taken. He questioned for how long country could run on the loans. He said that the government should implement the Federal Shariat Court verdict. He said that JI will continue its protest against the interest based economy vigorously. He said that the nation wants to get rid of this corrupt system. He said that interest is war against Almighty Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and progress and prosperity could not come in an Islamic country in presence of this war. He said that if JI was given an opportunity we will introduce interest-free economy. He said that currently all political parties are in government and only JI is playing the role of opposition.
