DFP condemns killing of Kashmiri youth by Indian occupation forces in fake encounters

SRINAGAR, June 24 (SABAH): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has voiced serious concern over the continued bloodshed and killing of Kashmiri youth by the Indian occupation forces during fake encounters.

In a statement issued on Friday, the DFP Spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal while denouncing the killing of four youth by the Indian forces said that that innocent and educated youth were being ruthlessly killed in fake and stage-managed encounters by the so-called Indian security forces. While paying glowing tributes to the martyred youth he said that India must bear in mind the fact that the genuine freedom movement cannot be suppressed by the dint of force.

Terming systematic killing of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian troops as a part of the BJP government’s policy to alter the region’s demography he said, “On one hand Indian government was using its state institutions including the parliament and judiciary to conquer Kashmiris while on the other it has unleashed havoc in the region by killing innocent Kashmiris day in and day out”, he said adding that the ruthless suppression of dissent in the region has led to illegal imprisonment of political leaders, civil society activists and human rights defenders.

Highlighting the plight of Kashmiri prisoners, the spokesman while voicing his serious concern over the declining health of the incarcerated party chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah and other Hurriyat leaders and activists said that it was unfortunate that India was using lawless laws to silence the legitimate political voices of Kashmir. He urged the international community to take effective notice of the matter and help secure early release of illegally detained Kashmiri prisoners.

Terming the ongoing bloodshed and violence in Kashmir as the cause and consequence of the unresolved Kashmir dispute, the APHC spokesperson said that it was incumbent upon the international community to discharge its moral and legal responsibility to resolve the dispute peacefully in accordance with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.
