Majority of Pakistanis prefer to stay at Pakistan: Gallup & Gilani Pakistan
ISLAMABAD June 18 (SABAH): Majority of Pakistanis feel connected to the country and prefer to stay in Pakistan even if given the opportunity; however, one in three younger Pakistani is willing to leave the country, says a survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, a national representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question: “If someone gives you important papers, accommodation and employment in a developed country, would you consider going or would reject the offer and prefer to stay in Pakistan?
In response to this question, 26% said that they will move abroad, 70% were found in favor of stay in Pakistan whereas 4% didn’t know or remained irresponsive.
If given the chance to move abroad or stay in Pakistan, the older population (fifty plus) were found to be interested in stay at Pakistan.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1369 men and women in urban and rural areas of all four provinces of the country. The error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level. The methodology used for data collection was CATI.
