Budget for next fiscal year is a recipe to steer the country out of economic crisis: PM Shehbaz


ISLAMABAD, June 10 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has termed budget 2022-23 a concrete step to take Pakistan towards economic improvement and stability.

Chairing special cabinet’s meeting in Islamabad on Friday; PM Shehbaz Sharif said presenting such a good budget in difficult economic situation reflects the good intent and capability of the government.

He said the budget for next fiscal year is a recipe to steer the country out of economic crisis. He said difficult decisions have been taken to bring Pakistan out of difficulties.

He said the budget provides ease to the weak segments whilst sacrifice has been sought from the well offs.

Shehbaz Sharif said that focus has been given to bring improvement in every sectors including agriculture, industry, trade, information technology and film and culture.

He said it is the first time that the agriculture sector has got tax exemption which will give a new life to the agriculture and farmers. A green revolution will come in the country with exemption of taxes on agriculture machinery, equipment and seeds. He said these historic steps will not only bolster our agri productivity, but also help bring down the prices of food items.

He said the government has given unprecedented relief to the film industry.

Shehbaz Sharif said Sasta Petrol and Sasta Diesel scheme will continue the whole year.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment to accelerate pace of work on CPEC. He expressed the confidence that the special economic zones under the corridor project will create job opportunities, promote business and help alleviate poverty.

He said it will not be less than an economic miracle of steering the country out of crises in one year.
