New budget will help shifting speculative economy into productive economy: Ahsan Iqbal


ISLAMABAD, June 10 (SABAH): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry has said that the new budget will help shifting speculative economy into productive economy. He said 250 mini sports stadium will be constructed across the country for which fifty percent development budget will be provided by the Federal government. Moreover, 250 vocational educational institutes will also be constructed across the country for which the Federal government will provide fifty percent funds.

This was stated by Ahsan Iqbal while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday.

Ahsan Iqbal said for the promotion of start-ups, a fund worth nine billion rupees will be established. For digital empowerment of the youth, universities’ students will be provided loans on easy installments for purchasing laptops.

The Minister for Planning said through targeted intervention different projects will be started in less privileged districts of the country to bring them at par with other developed areas of the country.

Separately talking to media persons outside the Parliament House on Friday, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the new budget will bring economic stability in the country. Marriyum Aurangzeb said taxes have been reduced to zero per cent on Agricultural machinery for the development of the agricultural sector.

The Minister for Information said special measures have been proposed in the budget for welfare of the youth and despite strict conditions of the IMF, relief has also been given to the salaried class.

She said for salaried people tax limit has been increased to one point two million rupees as compared to previous point six million rupees.
