Pakistan will continue its efforts for ensuring right to self-determination for Kashmiris: Qamar Zaman Kaira


ISLAMABAD, June 01 (SABAH): Adviser to Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Kaira has reiterated government’s resolve to expose Indian aggression and cruelties in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) at all international fora. He said that Pakistan will continue its efforts for ensuring right to self-determination for Kashmiris.

This was stated by Qamar Zaman Kaira while inaugurating the All Parties Consultative Conference on Kashmir issue organized by Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan and titled “The Way Forward” in Islamabad on Wednesday. The consultative meeting was held at Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Secretariat. The conference reviewed the situation arising after the announcement of life imprisonment sentence to Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik by an Indian court.

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Prime Minister AJK Sardar Tanveer Illyas Khan, former president Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, former president Raja Zulqarnain Khan, former prime minister Sardar Atique Ahmed Khan, former prime minister and PML-N leader Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, former prime minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi, former prime minister and PPP Azad Kashmir leader Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, PPP Azad Kashmir leader Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Leader of the Opposition in Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, President Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party Sardar Hassan Ibrahim Khan, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Faiz Naqshbandi, Acting Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Sheik Aqeelur Rehman, PML-N leader Shah Ghulam Qadir and other leaders attended the conference.

Qamar Zaman Kaira said the entire Pakistani nation is standing by their Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for getting liberation from Indian clutches.

Qamar Zaman Kaira also paid rich tribute to the spirit of Kashmiri leadership of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for its continuing struggle for achieving their inalienable right to self-determination. Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the Kashmir issue is not problem of any single party but it is issue of whole country, adding that through consultation process we could move forward the Kashmir issue. He said that efforts for the resolution were made during both democratic and undemocratic tenures, adding that India is changing the demography of occupied Kashmir. He said that India has converted occupied Kashmir into the biggest prison, adding that Indian government has increased atrocities on minorities and Kashmiris.
