Govt continuing polices of PTI despite promises & claims to provide relief to the masses: Sirajul Haq

LOWER DIR, May 30 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the government is continuing polices of the PTI despite promises and claims to provide relief to the masses.

Addressing the elected JI councilors here on Monday, Sirajul Haq warned the government against testing the people’s patience, calling for bringing down the prices of petrol and other basis commodities.

He expressed concern over the reports that the government was mulling option to increase power tariff by Rs8 per unit. He said the masses were fed up from the policies of the three parties who had been ruling over the country for decades. The ruling parties exposed and badly failed to address the problems of the country, he said.

The JI chief expressed anger over the rape incident in Bahauddin Zakaria Express, calling for strict actions against the criminals involved the shocking incident. Such tragedies shattered the people’s trust over the government, law and order agencies and institutions, he said. He appreciated the Islamabad High Court move to issue notices to the rulers in missing persons’ case. He said at a time when country was facing different crises, the judiciary was turned into center of hope to the nation.

Sirajul Haq said the leaders of the ruling parties promised to reverse the price index of basic commodities to the level of 2018 when they had launched the campaign to oust the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government through no-confidence motion. But, he added, they desperately failed to keep their words and dropped the bombshell on the poor masses. The government acts, he said, proved the JI stance as true. The JI, he said, had already made it clear to the masses that the ruling parties (the PML-N, the PPP and the PTI) were the sides of the same coin, having no agenda of public welfare.

Sirajul Haq demanded the government introduce interest-free budget and give roadmap to the nation to eliminate riba from national economy. He said the JI was the ray of light for the nation, having capability to put the country on track. The people, he appealed, should vote for the JI to transform Pakistan into Islamic welfare state.
