Announcement of Youm-e-Takbeer reflects that Pak is independent & will remain independent forever: Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD, May 28 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb has congratulated the nation on the anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer.

In a statement, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the announcement of Youm-e-Takbeer reflects that Pakistan is independent and will remain independent forever. The Minister said the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif proved that we can never be surrendered. 

She said, on this day, we reiterate our commitment to never compromise on Pakistan’s independence, sovereignty and national interest.

The Minister also paid tribute to all the people including Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan and his team, who established, developed and manifested the nuclear program.

Meanwhile Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Film and Culture Policy 2018 has been revived and recommendations in this regard will be presented to the Prime Minister soon.

The information minister was talking to a delegation of Film Producers Association in Islamabad on Saturday who briefed her about their problems. She said suggestions formulated after consultation with film and culture stakeholders will be made part of the upcoming budget.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Punjabi film is our precious asset which is currently stagnant, but we are striving to review it.

The information minister said that the revival and development of the country’s film industry is included in the government’s priorities and that it would take all possible steps to solve its problems.
