Institutions have been failed to meet nation’s commitment regarding their impartiality: Sirajul Haq
LAHORE, Feb 28 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq Wednesday presided over a meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Majlise Aamla at Mansoorah and reiterated the commitment to continue struggle for civil supremacy.
He said the institutions have been failed to meet the nation’s commitment regarding their impartiality.
The political parties, he asserted, have to play the role to save the democracy. The Jamaat-e-Islami, he said, would not sit silent over theft of public mandate in Feb 8 election, adding the party’s mandate has been stolen in Karachi.
Expressing concerns over widespread election irregularities, he said if elections were name of selection, then what was the use of this fake exercise, playing with public sentiment and wasting money from national exchequer. The elections 2024, he said, were mockery of the public.
“We will collaborate with all affected parties to formulate a collective strategy to expose the rigging.” He expressed commitment to reclaim the public mandate through peaceful, democratic, and constitutional means.
He said the political parties which would come to power on the basis of fake mandate would not be able to fix the economy and establish stability. He warned that the undermining of public mandates would further exacerbate the political and economic crises within the country, questioning the legitimacy of a government formed on a stolen mandate.
The Jamaat-e-Islami chief reiterated the demand for the resignation of the election commissioner due to latter’s failure to conduct a transparent election. He also called for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the allegations of rigging. The masses, he said, demanded the announcement of results based on the Form 45.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader reaffirmed the Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to fighting against corruption and advocating for a stronger democracy, appealing the workers from all political parties to unite with the Jamaat-e-Islami in their collective pursuit of a democratic Pakistan.
