Duplication of projects must be avoided: Ahsan Iqbal
ISLAMABAD, Nov 29 (SABAH): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry has underscored the urgency of maintaining momentum in development work and timely execution of Public Sector Development Programme Projects.
Ahsan Iqbal was chairing a high-level meeting to review the first quarter progress of the Public Sector Development Programme 2024-25 in Islamabad on Friday.
The federal government had authorized 155 billion rupees for the first quarter to ministries and divisions under the PSDP framework.
The Planning Minister stressed the importance of ensuring these funds are utilized effectively, with a focus on achieving tangible outcomes.
He said that duplication of projects must be avoided, given the government’s limited financial resources and each penny must be spent vigilantly, ensuring maximum impact for national development.
The Minister also highlighted the need for reallocating funds from projects with zero expenditure to expedite those currently under implementation.
