To end the colonial system, Jamaat-e-Islami always followed the path of democratic, political resistance: Liaqat Baloch


LAHORE, Aug 26 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that the struggle of Jamaat-e-Islami is to bring the system of religion and the blessed Islamic revolution. To end the colonial system, he said that the Jamaat-e-Islami always followed the path of democratic and political resistance.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion of the 84th Foundation Day of Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch said that the establishment and struggle of Jamaat-e-Islami is to bring the system of religion and the blessed Islamic revolution.

The mission of Jamaat-e-Islami is to call and preach the people, to serve the people of God, he said and added Jamaat-e-Islami has always followed the path of democratic and political resistance to end the colonial and exploitative system. He said that Pakistan can play effective and leading role in the Islamic world and developing countries based on its capabilities, geographical importance and natural resources.

He said that a corrupt, incompetent and self-interested system and its patrons have virtually paralyzed Pakistan. He said for the stability of the political and economic system, supremacy of the Quran and Sunnah, obedience to the Constitution of Pakistan, implementation of the law, independent judiciary and transparent, the impartial and fair elections are indispensable.

Liaqat Baloch said when all the stakeholders will accept the parameters of constitution then the country will become a center of unity and development. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to raise public awareness and organized struggle above sectarianism and all kinds of prejudices.

Liaqat Baloch telephonically contacted the provincial emirs Muhammad Hussain Mehnti, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi, Muhammad Javed Kasuri, Dr. Tariq Saleem and Rao Muhammad Zafar for the nationwide strike of August 28. The provincial emirs informed that God-willing that a strike will remain successful as negotiation with traders, transporters and trade organizations have been done.

Liaqat Baloch said that 28 August 2024 shutter down strike is the decision of the people of Pakistan. The nationwide strike is for the recovery of the rights of traders, industrialists, employees and agriculturists. He said the 28th August strike will bring the economic system back on track.

Liaqat Baloch expressed shock and regret over the continuous accidents on the highways and said that it is the failure of the highways, traffic police,  vehicle examination agencies and the provincial government. He said that the highways are unsafe, adding Jamaat-e-Islami expresses its condolences with the bereaved families.
