Govt should announce elections while dissolving the assemblies as it will be their favor for the nation: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE, June 18 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that the system and rulers have failed to deliver, adding the promises and announcement made by Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for coming into power even not a singe of them was implemented. He said that the country is facing chaos and delay in holding of elections would be violation of the Constitution.

While addressing a press conference along with Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Secretary General Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch, JI Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly Syed Abdul Rasheed and Jamaat-e-Islami Information Secretary Qaiser Sharif at the Mansoorah on Sunday at the conclusion of the three-day long meeting of Majilse Shura (consultative council), Sirajul Haq said that the government should announce elections while dissolving the assemblies as it will be their favor for the nation. He said that any effort for delaying the polls will be vigorously opposed, adding that the respect of establishment, Supreme Court of Pakistan and Election Commission of Pakistan is in quitting the politics, adding that if the interference of the institutions will continue then no one will believe in the transparency of the election.

Sirajul Haq said that JI will hold a mammoth power show outside the Election Commission of Pakistan’s central office in Islamabad against selection in Karachi mayor election. He said that Balochistan is the story of the deprivations, adding that JI assures the people of the province that we are standing with you, adding that Gwadar accord should be implemented in letter and spirit.

Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan People’s Party and Sindh government along with ECP committed dacoity on the mandate of the Karachi people, adding that the peaceful protest will continue at every place against the selection of the Karachi mayor, adding that the courts will also be approached. Sirajul Haq paid tribute to the people of Karachi for supporting Jamaat-e-Islami, adding that all legal and constitutional ways and means will be adopted for the protection of the rights of the city.

Sirajul Haq said that “Gwadar ko Haq do Tehreek” leader Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch was sent behind the bars because he was seeking the right of the people of the area. He said that the people of Balochistan including Gwadar should be given their right and not charity. Sirajul Haq said that wants to tell the rulers that the problems will not be resolved while place the masses on the wall through force, adding that the people have awakened and they are getting out of patience.

Sirajul Haq said that the people should be allowed to elect their leadership in independent manner, adding that the masses should support JI so that the foundation of corruption free, prosperous, green and clean Pakistan is laid.
